Nestled in the Solan District of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, Kasauli Tour Package is a cantonment town and a beautiful hill station. This serene turn was established as a hill station by the British during the late eighteenth century.
Located in the southwest part of Himachal Pradesh, Kasauli, at an elevation of about 1927 meters above sea level, is nestled amidst a serene forest cover of cedar and pine trees. Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh owes its magical colonial ambience to the Britishers who settled here post 1842. The lavish yet mysterious buildings exude a serene, old world ambience and reminds us of the past of this hill station.
Kasauli is often referred to as the hiker’s paradise. Almost every part of the hill station can be covered on foot easily.
An ideal family location away from the hustle bustle, Kasauli hill station is located pretty close to a number of major cities. For instance, it lies 77 km away from Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, 65 km from Chandigarh and about 290 km from national capital Delhi.
As such, Kasauli is not home to a lot of tourist destinations. There are just a few prominent attractions in Kasauli. However, the place is all gold if you’re someone looking to get lost in nature. The enchanting calmness, the serene environment, that is what Kasauli is all about.
Day 1 – The biggest Kasauli attractions are the panoramic Points from where you can see the Himalayas. It is worth seeing and taking photos at Monkey Point, Gilbert Point and Jabli Point. We end the day with the fascinating Kasauli Sunset Point.
Day 2 – Today we start early and drive to Dharampur Station which is about 10Kms from Kasauli. The Toy Train from Dharampur to Barog goes through thick jungle, tall trees and deep valleys that look beautiful in any season. This train journey is a major tourist attraction and is declared a World Heritage by UNESCO. We return to Kasauli in the evening.
Day 3 – Early morning we visit the Krishna Bhavan Mandir. This is a unique tourist attraction because it is a Hindu temple built like a Church. Then we proceed to see the Mohan Meakin Brewery, also called Kasauli Tour Package. This was the first brewery established in India in the year 1820 by the British.
Evening is time for shopping on the Lower Mall Road. There are many shops selling handicrafts and woollen items, flavoured wines and fruit jams. Enjoy dinner of Band Samosa with chole, sidu (local bread), khuskhus halwa, Tibetan dumplings and thukpa.
